Soma Fabrications have been thinking about how to evolve the Double Cross Disc.
This has evolved over the years into a suburb “ride-it -all”, “Jack of all trades” frame. Ready for cyclo-cross, trail-riding, commuting and medium duty loaded touring, it is probably still the most all-rounder frame in Soma’s lineup. The frame also fits older modern parts that many people still prefer.
The thing is, is it still a desirable and relevant concept for 2020?
At the moment Soma Fabrications are considering just changing the fork to a thru-axle and the rear to a modular non-sliding dropout that is thru-axle but can be swapped out to fit 135mm QR.
They will keep the non tapered head tube and BB standard.
Anyway, if you have any opinions or suggestions on how this classic should evolve, let us know.
